Website Maintenance and Support in Pakistan
A website needs attention after launch: a form stops delivering enquiries, an old price stays online or an update changes the layout. We review the current setup and agree on the work your website needs, with clear responsibilities for routine changes and urgent faults.
Discuss your website support needs →Review the setup before agreeing to support it
Send us the website address and tell us which platform, hosting and integrations it uses. We review the available access, code or administration tools, deployment process and known faults. An inherited site may need an initial repair phase before routine maintenance is practical. The proposal separates that work from recurring support so there is no confusion about what is covered.
Separate content updates from technical repairs
Changing opening hours or replacing an image is different from fixing a failed checkout. The support scope identifies the types of requests included, any time allowance and how extra work is approved. New pages, design changes and integrations may be separate projects. Keep a simple request list with a URL, the expected result and the material needed to make the change.
Make form and contact checks part of the routine
A contact page can look correct while enquiries never reach the inbox. Checks should follow the complete path: submit a test request, confirm delivery and make sure the right person can respond. Phone links, WhatsApp links and external booking destinations also need checking. Test messages should be labelled and removed from customer records where appropriate.
Agree on backups and a way to restore
Identify what needs backing up: site files, content, database records and configuration. The frequency and retention period depend on how often the site changes. A backup is useful only if someone knows how to restore it. We agree on storage access and restoration responsibilities, including any limits imposed by the hosting provider. Business email needs its own plan if it is outside the website system.
Handle updates with a rollback plan
Where the platform allows it, review changes away from the live website before releasing them. Check the affected pages and forms after an update, and keep a recovery route if something breaks. Domain renewal, SSL and hosting are separate services with their own account owners. We list who monitors each item instead of assuming all responsibilities move with a maintenance agreement.
Set realistic support expectations
Agree on the contact channel, support hours, priority definitions and expected initial response. An initial response is different from a guaranteed resolution time. Emergency cover and out-of-hours work should be explicit in the proposal. For a quote, send the current issues, typical monthly changes and any existing provider agreements so we can define a manageable support scope.
Questions before you start
Can you maintain a website another developer built?
We first need to review the platform, available access and condition of the site. Some setups require repair or documentation before we can agree to ongoing support.
Does maintenance include a full redesign?
A redesign is scoped separately. Maintenance covers the agreed repairs, checks and updates; substantial changes need their own estimate.
Is round-the-clock support included?
Support hours and response expectations must be agreed in writing. Do not assume that a maintenance plan includes continuous emergency coverage.
